Canada will take on Sweden in their final game of round-robin play in the World Championships on Tuesday. Team Canada has been dominant for the vast majority of the tournament and seems like the team to beat in the upcoming quarterfinal round. But it will have a tough test with Sweden this evening.
Sidney Crosby and Macklin Celebrini continued their reign of terror over the weekend in Canada's 7-0 rout of Slovakia. Crosby finished with two goals and two assists, while Celebrini scored once and added two helpers. The 37-year-old veteran and 18-year-old teen have displayed great chemistry despite their nearly two-decade age gap.
Nathan MacKinnon, Brandon Montour and Tyson Foerster have also kept the offense humming while Jordan Binnington has been nearly flawless in net. It's easy to see why the North American powerhouse remains undefeated with 15 points from five regulation wins.
Sweden, however, has 18 points from six regulation wins, leading the Group A standings. This should be a fantastic late-stage battle for both teams, and a great primer for quarterfinal play on the horizon. Which team will enter the next stage with an undefeated record?
