Normally, NBA trade rumors in the offseason can be taken with a grain of salt.

But what about when an NBA brother predicts his sibling to be traded? Can we believe it a bit more then?

That's what happened on Friday, when Lonzo Ball predicted his superstar brother LaMelo to be traded.

The full prediction from Lonzo:

  • Charlotte Hornets draft Dylan Harper out of Rutgers to be their new point guard
  • Hornets trade LaMelo Ball to the Los Angeles Clippers

That'd be a big deal.

The Clippers don't come across as the most obvious LaMelo destination. They still have James Harden as a lead ball-handler.

Acquiring LaMelo would allow the Clippers to set up a new, younger era after Harden and Kawhi Leonard age out of the picture.

Charlotte would continue what feels like a constant rebuild with a new point guard. Harper is a bit of a steadier presence compared to LaMelo's all-over-the-place kind of play style.

Now this all becomes a question of what Lonzo's intention is with sharing this idea.

Does older bro know something? Is he putting up a smokescreen toward a different move? Or is he just being a fan in this moment, one who just happens to be related to the guy he's talking about?

Over the next month or so, we might find out.
