Australian Rugby star Angus Bell will head overseas in 2025, hitting the pause button on his tenure with the NSW Waratahs to join Irish side Ulster.

Bell, who is contracted with the Waratahs and Australia through 2027, will exercise the sabbatical option in his contract, departing for Ireland following the conclusion of this year's international campaign.

The 24-year-old has been part of the Wallabies since 2020, making 37 appearances for his nation throughout the beginning of an incredibly successful career.

Angus Bell will temporarily depart Super Rugby Pacific this season, instead opting to play for Ulster in the European Rugby Champions Cup.

The star prop said that the experience will be invaluable in his long term development, helping him grow as a player for both the Waratahs and Australia.

"To play a season for Ulster in the United Rugby Championship will provide me with new experiences and skills which I look forward to bringing back to Australia with me," Bell said via a statement.

"I would like to thank Rugby Australia and the NSW Waratahs for working with me in exploring this unique opportunity."

Bell will complete the Wallabies' 2025 schedule before heading to Ireland, and will return to Australia ahead of the 2026 international season.
